Hello and welcome to Mandarin Trails which will be my attempt on chronicling my Mandarin learning journey. What prompted me to create this blog was my upcoming trip to Kaohsiung, Taiwan in order to continue studying Chinese for a full year at Wenzao Chinese Language Center 文藻外語大學華語中心.
There is a lot that has been said regarding learning Chinese, and the purpose of this blog isn't to reinvent the wheel or to teach others about how to learn Chinese. There are a lot of other sites that fulfill that purpose better. This blog is mostly for myself, to keep track of what I've done and to gather my thoughts about certain aspects of learning Chinese as a second language, but also to provide a personal account of studying Chinese in Taiwan, and how I find the studies and life there to be. Something I'd personally wished there were more accounts of before coming to Taiwan myself.
Hopefully my blog will be of interest to others as well!
